Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery is a procedure categorised under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each ‘hair’ is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow colour and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.

Here’s how it works:

Microblading is done in two sittings (or actually three, if you count the patch test that you have to come in for first). On the initial appointment We will have a chat with you about the sort of thing shape/colour You would like and what your usual face care routine is. We will then need to make a tiny surface scratch with a very fine small needle and rub a small amount of pigment over it. That part is all over and all being well you can book in for your first session.

In your first sitting Before the microblading begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area , some clients may feel slight discomfort, but it’s relatively painless and perfectly normal . After making small hairlike incisions into your brows, extra dye is rubbed over the area and left to sit, before being wiped away, revealing your brand new brows.

Whether you’ve decided on a skin treatment, or just have a question, our team of experts are here to help

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. True reflection of healed colour can only be assessed 3-4 weeks after treatment. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape/design is recommended at least 4 weeks after initial treatment. It will go from too dark, to too light, to just right!

In your second sitting (4 weeks later, also included in the price and referred to as a top up) we will make any colour and /or shape adjustments then, as before we will continue to add some fine strokes to the brow area.

How important is microblading aftercare?

  • For maximum results and to avoid any added discomfort, aftercare is very important.
  • Do not get your brows wet for the first 7-10 days.
  • Use the healing balm (natural coconut oil)  2-3 times a day for the first 7-10 days with a cotton bud- NOT YOUR FINGERS!
  • Do not apply any make up on the treatment area for the first 7-10 days.
  • No swimming, saunas/Jacuzzi, sun beds for the first 7-10 days.
  • Do not have any other cosmetic treatments such as facials, skin peels, laser etc within the first 4-6 weeks.
  • Don’t pick, peel or scratch the treated area.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for the first 14 days.
  • After 10 days an SPF of 20 or higher should be applied to the area. Long term – In warmer climates, keep your brow area covered with a hat and or large sunglasses
